Volunteers enjoy the flexibility of choosing from 12 countries, with start dates year-round and programs from 1-12 weeks long.

Global Health Education Consortium
GHEC is a consortium of faculty and health care educators dedicated to international health education in U.S. and Canadian medical schools and residency programs. GHEC is a valuable resource for medical students and residents interested in volunteering overseas.
Idealist
Idealist.org is a directory of volunteering and nonprofit resources, with information provided by 16,000 nonprofit organizations in 130 countries. Users can search for information by location, keyword, or area of interest. Users can also subscribe to mailing lists, which provide automatic updates about new volunteer opportunities, job openings or internships.
International Medical Volunteers Association
The International Medical Volunteers Association (IMVA) is a nonprofit organization that promotes, facilitates, and supports voluntary medical activity through education and information exchange. IMVA works with a wide range of volunteers: physicians, dentists, nurses, therapists, hospital administrators, public health specialists, technologists, health educators, missionaries, physician assistants, students and others interested in health care. They provide information about volunteer opportunities and offer practical advice on how to find and choose compatible assignments.
Operation Giving Back
Operation Giving Back is managed by the American College of Surgeons and is designed to be a comprehensive resource to help surgeons find volunteer opportunities best suited for their skill-set either in the US or abroad.

Volunteers for Prosperity (VfP), a Presidential initiative, encourages volunteer service by American professionals in support of major U.S. initiatives to promote global health and prosperity. VfP matches highly skilled volunteers with opportunities abroad through their network of partner organizations and business.
