HVO is a network of health care professionals, organizations, corporations and donors united in a common commitment to improving global health through education.
The most effective volunteers are those who take the time to learn
about the country where they will be serving, as well as about the project.

As part of our 25th anniversary festivities HVO has re-released a CD of acoustic music written and performed by Barry J. Gainor, MD, a 25 year veteran of the organization. Dr. Gainor is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter who has authored two previous CD's which sold-out. His HVO album entitled "Compass Points," features a mixed bag of fun-filled and sometimes thoughtful tunes about international medical volunteerism. Several tracks include children singers, and tunes like the "Humanitarian Cha-Cha" and "Infestation" whimsically chronicle the adventures of an HVO assignment. The CD is available for a minimum donation of $25. Place an order to complete your musical journey overseas! Play the video box below to hear "Looking for an NGO?"
